The SLE Housing mission is to provide high quality social housing, specialist accommodation and intensive housing management support for the elderly and those who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities. SLE Housing achieves its objectives by acting as a ‘not for profit’ social landlord, managing specified and supported living accommodation in 1-3-bedroom apartments in small building blocks in Sheffield. Our DDA compliant accommodation has been specifically designed to the highest quality. There is no intention for SLE Housing to make a profit as all surpluses are re-invested into the organisation for further means.
SLE Housing tenants' have medium to high support needs, poor housing management awareness and many lack practical independent living skills. In addition to 24/7 intensive management of the property, we provide a range of service functions to ensure that high support need tenants can sustain their tenancy, whilst at the same time we ensure that reasonable and adequate accommodation is provided for all tenants.
Many of our tenants are supported by a local Supported Living or Assisted Living provider. Often supported living provision is required overnight and this accommodation is provided by SLE Housing within the blocks. We work closely with all stakeholders including the Supported Living Provider, Sheffield City Council, the Health Authority, local Community Support agencies, individual tenants themselves and, where appropriate, their families.
